7-04-04 20:56 SCORFOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION By MIKE Im November 2000 entscheidet sich das VISIONS-Magazin dazu, den Song "Fit in" auf den heißbegehrten "All Areas"-Sampler zu packen, was schließlich die Tonträgerkette WOM so dermaßen überzeugte, dass SCOREFOR umgehend für den "WOM New Talents Act 2000" nominiert wurde und schließlich unter den besten drei Bands landete. Nur einen Monat später stieß schließlich das Magazin ROCK HARD auf die Band und platzierte den Track "I will" auf ihrer "Unerhört"-CD, worauf fast 200 begeistere Rock-Hard-Leser sich die CD bei der Band bestellten..... Anfang 2001 unterschreibt SCOREFOR einen Management-Vertrag bei Modern Noise. 2001 Veröffentlichung der Single "I don´t know why" und anschließend des Albums "Leaving the Birdcage" über Wolverine Records. Dezember 2001 drehte die Band schließlich erstmals einen Videoclip zu dem hitverdächtigen Song "Heavy Weight Champion", der schließlich im März 2002 als Single veröffentlicht wird. Im Laufe des Jahres 2002 werden über 70 Konzerte gespielt und diverse Songs werden auf Samplern im In und Ausland (u.a. Japan und USA) veröffentlicht. Im Frühjahr 2003 ging es erneut ins Bluebox Studio, um dort zusammen mit Guido Lucas & Thilo Schenk die neue Scheibe "Just another version of truth" zu recorden, die ab Juni 2003 in den Läden stehen wird. Weiterentwicklung ist ja oftmals ein anderes Wort für Stilbruch oder die grundsätzliche Neuorientierung einer Band. Selten aber wird es als eine Feinjustierung des bestehenden Sounds verstanden. Scorefor haben auf ihrem ersten Album melodischen Punkrock gemacht und daran hat sich auch auf dem neuen Album nicht grundsätzlich etwas geändert. Wer allerdings die Möglichkeit hat einen Vergleich zwischen den beiden Scorefor Platten zu ziehen, wird schnell bemerken, dass die Songs in sich geschlossener wirken, die Refrains und Melodien besser ausgearbeitet sind und dem Schnell / Langsam Schemata der ersten Platte diverse Variationen hinzugefügt wurden.
