18-09-05 11:52 MBR 036 BABOONZ TO MUCH IS NOT ENOUGH CD By MIKE

Hi, it’s us, The Baboonz from Bavaria, Germany. Three long years have passed since we have released our debutalbum „Take Warning“. But we haven’t wasted those years: we have played hundreds of great shows all across Europe. But at last we made it to write new songs and entered the „Out-o-space“- Studio in Göttingen. We recorded 12 awesome tracks with big help of the genious „Triumvirat“: The Doctor, The Kaiser and The Spötter. „Too Much Is Not Enough“, a hot mixture of Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae and Punkrock, was born. It’s sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes loud, sometimes low but always highly explosive and politically correct. Compared to our first album not much has changed: it’s still our own style of music but somehow we seemed to have grown-up. The kids have become adults. Everything is less hectic and well arranged but still powerful and catchy. By adding all their experiences and doing some great additionell parts on several instruments, the Doctor and the Kaiser have produced a gorgeous album, which is completed by Itchy‘s and Scratchy’s backing vocals and spoken words by Roddy Radiation. They all did a great job and have been a big help. Our lyrics still deal with all kind of joy and pain of our daily lives, with love and hate, with capitalist assholes, unscrupulous cops, all kind of stubborn religious fanatics and Johnny Cash. The Baboonz have never been, are not and will never be a „Fun-Punk-Band“. Live is way to serious to act in an unpoltical manner. So we will always stand up to fight against fascism, racism, militarism and intollerance. But we will also never forget to enjoy the good sides of life.
All in all we are still the same guys than last time, plus another way too big one on organs: Simon, git, Daniel, git, ToBe, bass, Mandal, drums, Waste, vox, Stephan, sax, Flo, trumpet, Tobi, trombone and Klaus, organ. A weird mixture of students, working class heroes and drumcomputers and we will keep on walking together. Maybe we will meet at one of our shows at the bar to have some drinks or maybe somewhere else in this whole wide world.
So long, keep rocking

The Baboonz, 2005

„...Well now we’re back, right back out-o-space
Got something for you, no time to waste
Some real good music like it should be...“

Ska, 2-Tone, rocksteady, reggae, punk rock... call it whatever you want to. THE BABOONZ just call it ska and punk rock, and that’s just fine. It’s sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes loud, sometimes low, but always highly explosive and politically correct.

The band from Bavaria, Germany, is one of the country’s fastest-rising and most promising groups, and is an important part of the new flourishing ska scene in Bavaria. Though founded in 1998, things got serious in 2001 when they completed the following line-up:
Simon, guitar; Daniel, guitar; ToBe, bass; Mandal, drums; Waste, vocals; Stephan, saxophone; Tobi, trombone; and Flo, trumpet. Recently, the ensemble was joined by Klaus on organ.

THE BABOONZ have played more than 150 shows in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, and Switzerland. They shared stages with top acts such as Stingers ATX, Bad Manners, The Busters, Mark Foggo, Hotknives, The Peacocks, Scrapy, Skarface, Loaded, Bluekilla, The Skaliners, Moskovskaya, The Benuts, Tornados, Rollings, The Real McKenzies, Cashless, and many more. At their shows they rock ‘til you drop, and you can see how much fun they have being on stage. Their lyrics show that they view politics as an important part of daily life, taking a stand against fascism, racism, militarism and intolerance. But they’re not just complainers- they know how to throw a cool party as well.

In 2001, THE BABOONZ self-released a 6-song EP called „Congratulations.“ This was followed in 2002 with the full-length album „Take Warning,“ released on the German ska/oi!/punk label Mad Butcher Records. In 2005 a split-CD with Venus Hill (NL), Club 99 (I) and The Skatoons (Ger), along with another full-length-album, will be released again on Mad Butcher Records.
