Since their first show in 1999, The Prowlers have been invading the world with their music, mainly influenced by the old British OI! sound from the early 80’s. Even if there have been a few changes in band members throughout the years, the spirit and the music remain the same. The catchy choruses and guitars riffs are still a major part of their songs. Their music has never been known to be politically charged yet The Prowlers are unquestionably anti-racist. They proudly never have nor would they compromise their deep beliefs in order to gain fame.
Since the year 2000 The Prowlers have released several recordings on different labels such as Mad Butcher Records from Germany, KOB from Italy and Insurgence Records from Canada. Today they are proud to share their latest songs on this EP called Hate Us. The title song of the same name is once again showing their cocky attitude toward their enemies and fans alike. For the Prowlers not liking them isn’t enough, you’ve got to Hate them with a passion otherwise it’s not worth it. On the B-side of this EP you’ll hear the first collaboration of The Prowlers with guest singer Ronny Nurse from the reggae band Race. They pay tribute to the Trojan years and to the beginning of the Skinhead Culture covering Spread Your Bed by The Versatiles in an OI! style. The whole idea behind involving Ronny was to bring a reggae touch to the song and to be honest he killed it! The last song called Suburban Trash is a scathing look at suburban people and the way they live out their boring lives following trends. The song is a bit of a joke the same way that these people are a joke to The Prowlers.
This 7’’ is only a taste of the upcoming album that is set to be released in 2013. Meanwhile Sylvain, Stephane, John, Martin and Jaime, the current line up of the band remain available to go rock your town and drink your beer!
